How VERSA came to be

I grew up in the Swedish countryside, where fashion wasn’t exactly at the forefront of things. My friends and I would travel for a day just to shop in stores that didn't exist at home - that early sense of seeking something out, of fashion as a small adventure worth making an effort for, stayed with me.

When I moved to Berlin in 2013, I didn't have much money, and thrifting was the practical option. But somewhere along the way, necessity became passion. I discovered I had a good eye - for quality, for fabric, for the difference between a piece with something to say and one without. My mother had always worked with textiles, so the knowledge was there before I knew how to use it.

Berlin's vintage scene was growing, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Rails of bulk-bought florals, sportswear and y2k pieces, or fast fashion dressed up as vintage. There was a lot of volume and not much soul. I wanted something more considered: pieces that carried real history, whether through a label with an archive worth knowing or through a silhouette so good it needed no introduction.

VERSA grew out of that desire. It’s a personal curation of vintage and preloved pieces - some from designers whose history I find genuinely fascinating, others simply beautiful pieces that earned their place on feel alone. What they share is quality, character, and the kind of staying power that makes getting dressed a pleasure.

Come in, take your time, and find something worth keeping.
